Realtor in Rehab 2 week mark!

Two weeks ago I had surgery to repair my hip and femur. Although PT is going great…I have a long road ahead.

Thank you to the whole crew at Select Physical Therapy. From Cathy at the desk who has a smile and a warm welcome to everyone walking in. My therapist Anastasia (and Matt, Dave, James and all the team)

I’m beyond grateful. ❤️🙏

Ok friends! I’ve got my new logo! You all know (or maybe you don’t) I’ve been a full time musician since the 80’s, and I also love animal rescue! So I wanted to incorporate that into my logo. What do you all think? ❤️ UPDATED: tweaked things a little. Going with the one on the right! 🐾

Realtor in Rehab – Week 1 Update

This week’s showing? A walker, a fuzzy blanket, and furry faces.

It’s been one week since I fractured my hip and femur — and while I’m moving slow, I’m still moving forward.

The kindness from friends, clients, and total strangers has been
overwhelming in the best way.
I may be healing from home, but business (and life) isn’t on pause. I’ll be sharing my progress — and the incredible team helping me recover — right here.

If you’ve been through something like this, drop me your best tips (or your funniest fails). I’d love to hear them.

First responders are the backbone of our community. They give so much of themselves every day—whether it's running into danger to save lives, responding to emergencies, or offering support in ways that often go unseen.

So with that being said, I wanted to thank a few of them in person at a local Cape Coral Fire Department(specifically, station 11 since they're in my neighborhood!). Of course, I couldn't go empty handed 😜 so I brought some tasty treats from Amore Italian Bakery & Market!

After spending some time chatting with these guys, it's clear they have a passion to protect the people of Cape Coral. Their selfless service to our community means everything! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to all of the firefighters out there for always being there when we need you most. You are truly appreciated, today and every day. Stay safe, and know that we’re all behind you -- you are our heroes.

- Renee

PS - If you’re like me and you appreciate our first responders, show them! Remember, these folks spend a lot of time away from home to keep our community safe. You can show support by dropping off food, remembering them on the holidays, and even just a handwritten letter of thanks can go a long way!

And I also want to highlight those "number of animal" posters you should have in your home in case an emergency situation ever arises! The firefighters said they are a big help when they come across a home needing to be evacuated.

6. Waiting for the market to crash isn’t a viable homeownership strategy

One thing I want to do this year is be more intentional about saying THANK YOU to the amazing local businesses we have here in Lee County. I want to shop local more often & let these business owners know what a difference they make in their community.

So, this month, I decided to choose two businesses & bless them with a little sugary, pick-me-up from one of my favorites, Divine Donuts.

I stopped by both The Petal Patch Florist & Callin'All Paws Pet Grooming to drop off a box of donuts as a simple "THANK YOU" for giving our area great spots to purchase flowers from, along with a GREAT spot to have your 4-legged family member get groomed.

Both of these places are so well-deserving of this sugar pick-me-up.

Renee, the owner of The Petal Patch Florist has over 27 years of experience in floral design – I can personally vouch for just how amazing of a job she does! Not to mention, she is a rescuer at Paws Crossed Inc, so I love her even more for that!

Alisha at Callin All Paws Pet Grooming is my Reddington’s groomer and not only does he love her, but I do too! She’s so great with pets and I know he’s always in good hands when visiting her.

So from one "neighbor" to another, THANK YOU both Renee and Alisha for everything you do. Both of you make Lee County a great place to live.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.” What does this have to do with my 80s photos? (Yep, that's me) Just hear me out.

Believe it or not kiddos, back then this was THE hairstyle.

It took a can of Aqua Net every day and backcombing until you achieved an extra foot of height at the top of your head. Big hair was the trend of the moment, and everyone was doing it. Just like Jefferson said, many "swam with the current!"

Obviously, we don't do this anymore.

That style has faded and we’re onto the next thing.

While lots of things come & go, there are some things that don't change. Things that can't change.

When it comes to buying a home, you can "swim the current" & look for the trending paint color, floor layout, kitchen cabinetry, and so on...but I encourage all my buyers to look for the one thing you can't change: LOCATION.

You can update your paint, your flooring, or even do a major reno that modifies the layout.

But if the house isn't in a neighborhood you actually love or works best for your family, it won't matter how many changes you make! You'll eventually move.

So you might think it’s silly that I quote Thomas Jefferson when it comes to buying a home, but it’s because I want to make sure buyers take the most important (unchangeable factor) into account. Remember it’s fine to “swim with the current” for styles, but for certain principles? Stand like a rock.

Optimize for the neighborhood you love & you'll be happy you did.

- Renee

P.S. Thank you to my loving family & friends who eventually told me to change my hairstyle!
