🏡 This is not just a bonus room above the garage. It is a complete apartment.

This Ashton Woods model in Sunbridge includes a separate garage apartment with its own entrance, full kitchen, living space, bedroom, private bathroom, and walk-in closet.

That creates some very practical options.

It could give an adult family member more independence while keeping them close. It could provide private space for extended family or a caregiver. And this type of garage apartment can also be rented, creating the potential for additional income to help offset the mortgage. 💰

There is one tradeoff buyers should think about. The apartment is upstairs, so this particular layout may not work well when stairs or mobility are a concern.

That is exactly why I am paying more attention to new-construction homes with multigenerational layouts, casitas, private-entry suites, and separate living spaces. The right floor plan can solve a real housing problem.

3️⃣ Structural and design upgrades that are NOT included in the base price

4️⃣ Estimated monthly costs, including taxes, HOA, CDD and insurance

5️⃣ The amount of cash you may need to close

But the beautiful finishes, upgraded features and perfectly staged rooms do not tell you the whole cost story.

I toured the Jasmine model by Craft Homes in Weslyn Park at Sunbridge, and the optional casita is what really changes this layout.

📐 The main home is 1,789 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.

Add the optional 357 sq. ft. casita, and this model configuration becomes:

🛏️ 4 bedrooms
🛁 3.5 bathrooms
📐 2,145 sq. ft.

What I want buyers to notice is the separation.

The casita sits beyond the covered lanai, giving the space more privacy from the main house. That can be a real advantage depending on how you plan to use it, but it is also something worth thinking through before paying for the option.

💰 The Jasmine currently starts at $466,990. The model shown includes options and upgrades that are not reflected in that starting price.
