Most people assume REALTORS® fly to Washington, D.C. to talk about real estate.
We don't.
We go to talk about people.
The first-time buyer who can't find a home they can afford.
The retiree who wants to downsize but feels financially trapped.
The family that has done everything right and still struggles to find housing options.
Every year, I leave my business, board a plane, and spend time on Capitol Hill because housing decisions aren't made in open houses. They're made in legislative offices.
The reality is this:
Many of the biggest challenges facing buyers and sellers today have nothing to do with interest rates, staging, or marketing.
They have everything to do with housing supply, affordability, property rights, and the policies that influence who gets access to the American Dream.
This week, I'll be joining thousands of REALTORS® from across the country to meet directly with lawmakers and advocate for solutions that create more housing opportunities, strengthen private property rights, and help more Americans achieve homeownership.
I don't go because it's easy.
I go because if REALTORS® aren't at the table, the people we serve don't have a voice in the conversation.
Advocacy isn't political.
It's personal.
Because every policy discussion eventually becomes someone's housing story.
And those stories matter.
