Paint contains harmful chemicals that can corrode pipes and can damage your pipes if you wash it down your sink. Read the label on the paint that you use and dispose of it according to the directions. If in doubt, take leftover paint to a hazardous waste disposal center - it's fast and super easy.

Tax Day is not my favorite.

We all know the deadline for filing taxes can shift by a day or two each year, with the dreaded deadline usually falling on or around April 15, but did you know it wasn’t always that way?

After enacting the 16th Amendment, allowing for the collection of taxes, Congress set March 1st as the cutoff date for filing taxes. In 1919, the deadline was moved to March 15th to give taxpayers extra time and then, in 1955, it was changed to the long-standing date of April 15th. That year, Congress believed an additional month would help taxpayers who were facing increasingly complicated tax laws, though it’s thought, the biggest perk may have been for IRS employees, who gained an extra month to process a large number of tax returns.
