Okay, prepare yourselves. Sentimental Rod is about to make an appearance.

38 treatments. Done.

I didn’t ring the bell today. That part just wasn’t for me. But I did take the picture, because I want to remember this moment.

I’ve tried to stay positive through all of this. I worked, exercised, cooked, went out, made jokes and probably made the last two months look a lot easier than they actually were.

They weren’t easy.

If I’m being completely truthful, part of the reason I didn’t talk much about how difficult it was is because I somehow felt like struggling with this made me weak. So when I felt sick, exhausted, scared or just completely worn down, my instinct was usually to push through it and tell everyone I was doing great.

I was doing great. But I was also struggling. Both things can be true.

For almost two months, every weekday I got back on that table. Some days my stomach was a mess. Some days my body hurt. Some days the fatigue was overwhelming. And there were plenty of mornings when the last thing I wanted to do was go back.

But I went back. 38 times.

Six years ago I had surgery for prostate cancer and hoped that would be the end of this story. It wasn’t. So when I had to face it again, I did.

Today I walked out knowing I did everything I could do. Now my body gets to heal, and I get to move forward.

Maybe the biggest thing I’m taking from this is that admitting something was hard doesn’t make you weak. Sometimes getting through something hard is exactly what strength looks like.

I’m proud of myself. And after these last couple of months, I’m finally going to let myself say that out loud.

38 of 38. Finished.

And that concludes the longest Facebook post I have ever written.

Guys, make sure to get your PSA checked.

Apparently I’m a 1950s housewife with a smoker. Yesterday I made my first real layer cake AND spent 10 hours making poor man’s burnt ends. I may be tired, but apparently I’m also very well fed.

Twenty-five years together. Twenty-two years married.

Camille has somehow managed to put up with me all these years.

At this point, she’s either the most patient woman on Earth or she’s forgotten where she put the receipt.

Happy Anniversary, Camille Baron. I’d still choose you every single time. xoxo

19 down, 19 to go.
More challenging than I expected, but I’m always up for a challenge.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out. It has meant a lot.

Coffee and Charcoal rub. Been in the smoke for about an hour. Another 6 or so more hours to go! I got my spritzer and sauce all ready to go. Adding wood every 30 min or so is a good workout.
