My "Spur of the moment" Trash clean up!
Grab a trash bag!
Well, what started as picking up that darn snow shovel that’s been on the side of Hwy 14 all year quickly turned into, “Oh look, more trash… oh geez, there’s some more!”
I too am tired of seeing roadside trash everyday on my way home. So from Mammoth Creek to Strawberry Point Road I inched my way down the hill and about an hour and a half later… here’s my load!
I know most highway trash probably isn’t intentional. I drive a truck too, and I’ve definitely cringed when a small piece of cardboard suddenly takes flight in my rearview mirror and disappears into the wind.
If anyone would like to volunteer to write letters to Red Bull, Coors, Busch, every water company, Vizzy, Izzy, 5-hour Energy, Canada Dry, Sprite, Pacifico, and the rest of them asking them to kick off a “Don’t Litter” campaign, I’m all for it!
Every year, we struggle with trash in our beautiful scenery. Everyone takes a different route home, so maybe carry a trash bag with you. Even one quick stop to grab a few things when you’re not on a mission to get somewhere can help.
Unfortunately, when I got this wild hair, I was wearing flip-flops, so there’s still some bigger trash higher up on the hill. I just wasn’t interested in battling heatstroke while hiking in flips!
Anyway... off to shower the gross off! Happy Thursday!!
Oh, and shout out to all my homies who stopped or called to make sure I was okay!
