The Lights Over Lebanon free community event is set for this Saturday, the Fourth of July at Graham Memorial Park. Celebrate Independence Day with 800 pounds of explosives and more than 2,000 pounds of fireworks!
Brent Baker, owner of CK Pyrotechnics, said activities get underway at 4 p.m. It’s all concentrated at the park’s sprawling soccer fields complex.
Here’s helpful info:
~CK Pyrotechnics’ blast zone is at the soccer fields, with a 300-foot buffer, firing off the show, which begins at 10 p.m.
~Nine food trucks will be located near the soccer fields’ concession building. The Open Arms Community Church Family Fun Zone, featuring bouncy houses and slides, is nearby. Also in that area, almost 30 craft vendors, face painting and more.
~You will be able to see the fireworks throughout the park. Baker calls it a “a full sky event.”
~Park in designated areas only.
~Parking will not be allowed on the soccer fields, and not on the Par 3 or driving range.
~Parking is allowed in all designated parking spots throughout the park. That includes on the Aquatic Center side of the park, accessed via South Proctor Knott/Bradfordsville Road. Parking will also in the soccer fields parking lot, accessed via Woodlawn Avenue/Fairgrounds Road. And Marion County Fair Board officials say parking will be available on their property across from the park’s soccer fields. That zone extends from the Extension Office to Floral Hall.
~Canopies, beach umbrellas and other items to create shade will be allowed, because of the high heat expected. Baker just asks you do take them down at dusk, before the fireworks. No personal fireworks or alcohol allowed at the event.
