ed on behalf of a student or students in Sumner County Schools. If you have what is needed, you can donate it... if you have the resources to fulfill the need, you can donate the finances... if you don't have what is needed, you can simply ignore the email & know that since no one actually knows who is on the list... there is no one to make you feel guilty by not donating. This is literally here to inform & direct the funds and/or resources needed to assist teachers, counselors and administrators in our schools as they work to impact the lives of children right where we live! Background of the idea:
After speaking to yet another group of concerned citizens about the needs of the severely impoverished students in our area, founder Van Hohe realized he was missing the point. It wasn't as much about raising short term funds as it was about networking with those who are concerned and want to help throughout the year (not only just at Christmas). The "ah-ha" moment occurred when he finished speaking to Sumner Association of Realtors, and this generous group filled one hand with checks & the other hand with business cards! Immediately he realized the cards could be worth even more than the thousands in checks, because he could contact them again throughout the year. Women's Club is taking the lead to help sponsor the separate 501c3 status of this organization. Leadership Sumner is the current 501c3 covering and board of directors managing all donations and disbursements. DesignerClothesDrive.com is now going to be a function of TheNeedsList Foundation. From winter coats to groceries to car & home repairs, we work to anonymously provide resources to impoverished students through teachers & school counselors. Sign up to learn about the most current needs, volunteer to sort clothes or even request a tour of our facility... there is something here for everyone no matter how much you can give!
