**Lessons from the Car Rider Line đ**
Our car rider line is incredibly long.
And most mornings, I'll admit, it feels like wasted time. Time to check email. Scroll through my phone. See what's happening in the world.
But this morning, instead of picking up my phone, I asked our daughter a question:
**âWould you rather be able to fly or be invisible?â**
She chose invisible.
I chose flying.
So naturally, my next question was, âWhat would you do if you were invisible?â
She smiled.
**âI'd pick people up.â**
đłđ
We both started laughing.
Then she got very serious and said, âI've actually thought about this before. There are LOTS of things I'd do if I were invisible. But I think picking people up would be the most fun.â
Now we're laughing even harder.
Eventually, we made it to the front of the line. She got out of the car still laughing and smiling.
The teacher opening the car door saw her laughing and started smiling. Another student came over and started smiling.
And just like that, what I had considered **wasted time** became one of my favorite parts of the morning.
It reminded me that not every meaningful moment has to be planned.
Sometimes we just have to put the phone down long enough to notice the opportunity.
So here's a challenge for your next car rider line, long drive, or five minutes waiting in a parking lot:
Put down the phone and ask:
**âWould you rather be able to fly or be invisible AND what would you do with it?â**
You might be surprised by the answer.
And you might discover the time wasn't wasted after all.
