Ever wish you could give someone a huge gift? Every year when it comes around I'm telling everyone I can about Welcome Home Funds because even though it's indirect, the best part of my job is helping people & telling people about this program is an indirect way I can give my friends $20,000 -- I love that so much.

The Welcome Home Grant opens April 6 this year, and eligible buyers can receive up to $20,000 toward down payment and closing costs. It’s not a lottery or competition—just first come, first served.

Matt and I used this program 9 years ago when it was only $5,000, and it made a huge difference for us. Seeing it available for up to $20,000 now honestly blows my mind.

This program isn’t just for first-time buyers, and the income limits are generous (around $81k for 1–2 people and $94k for 3+). If you’ve been working hard to save for your first or next home, this can stretch those savings a lot further—either by lowering your upfront costs or giving you more flexibility in your budget.

The key is starting early (getting pre-approved now and choosing a home mid–late March) so you’re ready when funds open.
