Stopped by school today to pick up the kids, and the highlight of my day was seeing Sister Judy. ❤️

Next week she’ll begin a new chapter as she retires and moves out of the area. While we’re excited for all that’s ahead for her, it’s hard to imagine St. Matthew’s without her.

Some people leave footprints on your heart, and Sister Judy is one of them. She has touched the lives of our kids, our family—and so many others—with her kindness, faith, encouragement, and unwavering love. We are incredibly grateful for the impact she’s had on our children, our school, and our community.

Thank you, Sister Judy, for being such a beautiful example of Christ’s love. We wish you God’s richest blessings in this next chapter. You will be deeply missed. ❤️🙏

This weekend at the lake, the strap on my swimsuit broke… so I reached for my grandma’s and my mom’s old sewing kits.

The perfect spool of thread was waiting for me—still marked 25¢.

A few stitches fixed the swimsuit, but what really stayed with me was the reminder that the things passed down through our families aren’t always the big heirlooms. Sometimes they’re the simple, everyday things that quietly take care of us for generations.

Grateful for the memories of my grandma and for a mom who still reminds me that a little thread can fix a lot. ❤️🧵

This is the view from the lake today. The water is calm, but the air tells a different story. The smell of smoke is so heavy you can taste it the moment you step outside.

With family in Spokane now under evacuation orders, this hits especially close to home.

Today I’m praying for everyone affected by these devastating fires—for the families who have had to leave their homes, those living with uncertainty, and those who have suffered heartbreaking loss. I’m also praying for the firefighters, pilots, first responders, dispatchers, and all those working around the clock to protect lives, homes, and communities.

Lord, surround them with Your protection. Give them strength when they are exhausted, wisdom in every decision, courage in the face of danger, and peace in the midst of uncertainty. Comfort those who are anxious and grieving, and watch over every person in harm’s way.

Please join me in praying for everyone affected by these fires. 🙏❤️

Yesterday, one of my seller clients surprised me with such a fun gift—a framed 1977–78 Montana Grizzlies basketball poster featuring my Uncle Craig Henkel.

Then she shared something I didn’t know. My grandpa, Wally, had built the frame for her dad decades ago. Somehow, after all these years, it found its way back to our family.

The framed poster got me looking through old programs and articles online. At Libby High School, he was considered one of Montana’s top prep basketball players before becoming a four-year letterman for the Montana Grizzlies.

But my favorite photo isn’t from the 1970s.

It’s the photo with him and the girls.

Nearly 50 years later, he’s still on the court—this time coaching his granddaughters and my daughter, Ella. That’s the kind of legacy that lasts.

I sent my mom the freshman program photo and the article I found online. Her response: “I was his biggest fan then and still am.” Some things never change. ❤️🏀
