🏡 HOME BUYERS — DON’T BE AFRAID TO SHOP YOUR LENDER! ( Story Below)

I wanted to share a recent client experience because it’s such a great reminder that you should never be afraid to ask questions, compare your options, and negotiate!

My buyer had already started the process with her original lender when I came across another lender offering a grant specifically for the home she was purchasing. I brought that option to her attention because I wanted her to have all the information before making a decision.

But here’s where it gets good… 👏
She went back to her original lender and said, essentially, “This is what I’ve been offered. What can you do for me?”
And that conversation turned into some serious wheeling and dealing! 😂

Her original lender ended up offering her:
💰 A LOWER interest rate
💰 $7,000+ in closing cost credits
💰 And ultimately, more money staying in her pocket

And the best part? SHE negotiated it! 🙌
She actually thanked me afterward because if I hadn’t brought the other lender and the grant to her attention, she may have never realized she had the opportunity to go back to her original lender and negotiate.

That is exactly why I tell my clients: ASK QUESTIONS. SHOP AROUND. COMPARE. NEGOTIATE.

You don't have to automatically accept the first offer you're given. Sometimes simply knowing what another lender is willing to offer gives you the information you need to go back to your current lender and ask them to do better.

And remember — your lender wants your business, and your money is worth protecting.@
It never hurts to ask… and in my client's case, asking saved her thousands! ❤️

Reality is, if you're waiting for interest rates to drop, you could be waiting a long time. In the meantime, would you rather build equity in your own home or keep helping your landlord build equity in theirs? 🏡💰
