Another unusual style of home that you rarely see in Los Angeles is the Dutch Colonial. Known for their gambrel roofs and unique style they represented a nostalgic architecture prevalent in the early 1900’s. This beauty was designed by Arthur Benton in 1903. It reminds me of the clapboard house that my grandparents owned on Mersea Island off the coast of Essex in the UK.
