Is a house worth more than a life? π π
Yesterday I got a call I can't shake. I've been thinking about it ever since.
A widow. Years behind on her mortgage, fighting the bank with everything she had. Lied to at every turn. Two attorneys took thousands of dollars from her β then stopped returning her calls. Just... gone.
By the time she found me, it was too late. Her home had been sold at auction five days earlier.
Nobody had even told her.
Then she said something no one should ever have to say. She told me she didn't want to live without that home. That she couldn't face telling her grandkids the house they visited every summer was gone.
I had to pull over. Because I've BEEN her.
In 2014 I lost the home my kids grew up in. Nobody told me there were rules. I packed the boxes myself. I threw out the rabbit cage I built for my girls with my own hands. I know exactly how dark that road gets β and how alone it feels at 2am when the mail is stacking up and you're afraid to open it.
But here's what I told her, and what I'm telling you: π
It is NOT the end. I learned the system. I rebuilt. Today I own a home again β and a second one. It took years. But the sun comes up every single morning, and if you keep moving, life gets better. It always does. Always. πͺ
Now the part that keeps me up at night. π
She had $105,000 of equity in that house. Gone. Not because she didn't fight β she fought harder than anyone I've ever met. But the people she trusted took her money and vanished, and nobody told her the truth about her options while there was still time. β°
Think about what $105,000 could have done. A fresh start. A better place near her grandkids. Breathing room. Peace. ποΈ
A house is walls and a roof. Your life, your family, your story β those can't be foreclosed on. β€οΈ
π If you or someone you love is behind on the mortgage, don't wait until it's five days too late. There may still be ways to keep the home β and if not, there are ways to walk away with your equity instead of losing it at the auction. I'll tell you the truth about your options, free. Even if the honest answer is "you don't need me."
And if the weight ever gets as heavy as it got for her β call or text 988, any hour. A house can be replaced. You can't.
I'm Chris. I answer my own phone. π± Message me.
