We have a few local builders here in Lubbock who need to move some of their inventory, and their offering some great incentives for buyers. If you or someone you know have been thinking about buying a home here in Lubbock, it is still a great market to find what you have been looking for. According to bankrate.com, the national average interest rate on a 30-year fixed FHA is 7.53%, but you have the option to buy down the interest rate. There are some local builders who are offering up to $20,000 to buy down the interest rate when purchasing a brand new build from their inventory. Are you looking for something to get you out of the house this weekend? Lubbock has a few interesting events and shows going on today and tomorrow.

Tonight there is the "Red Romance on the West Side" concert being held at the Buddy Holly Hall starting at 7:30 PM. The concert will feature two works by the American Composer, John Corigliano, "The Red Violin" and "Circus Maximus," with Leonard Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story!” finishing off the night.

At The Edge theater there will be a performance of The Crimson House Murder tonight starting at 7:30 PM and ending at 9 PM. There will be another performance on Saturday. You’ll find laughs galore in this murder mystery farce that spoofs the private eye shows of the past.

Lastly, Moonlight Musicals is presenting "Into the Woods" tonight starting at 8 PM. It is located at the Moonlight Musicals amphitheater. Experience a musical that brings your favorite fairy tale characters together in this enchanting story.

This weekend is perfect to have fun with the family and support farmers from all across the South Plains and a local business! Starting today, Friday, October 14th from 9AM to 5PM and continuing on Saturday from 9AM to 3PM you can go to the Fibermax Center For Discovery and see the 20th Annual Tractor and Engine Show that the South Plains Antique Tractor Association puts on every October. It is located at East Broadway & Canyon Lakes Dr. Admissions are free and they do accept donations. There are auctions, prize drawings, a tractor parade, etc. and you can tour the museum to learn about all sorts of interesting facts pertaining to farming all across the South Plains going back decades.

The Science Spectrum is also hosting Bubblefest with member night starting tonight, Friday, October 14th from 6-8:30PM and continuing on Saturday, October 15th from 10AM to 6PM. It is an event that provides exciting entertainment and accessible science to families and kids of all ages. You can experience learning and science all centered around bubbles!
