Something I’ve noticed as an Airbnb host: I welcome travelers heading north on a surprisingly regular basis. 🌲🚗
When you look at the map, it makes perfect sense.
Owosso is the largest city in centrally located Shiawassee County, positioned 20 minutes from two of Michigan’s major north-south thoroughfares - I-75 to our east and US-127 to our west.
That makes The Legacy and The Exchange highly convenient places to stay for travelers making their way north - whether Owosso is the destination, a stop along the journey, or the perfect place to spend a night before continuing on.
It’s also exactly why my guest guidebook doesn’t stop at Owosso. I include recommendations and information for Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Mackinac Island, too. I know that for many of our guests, we’re one stop in a much bigger Pure Michigan adventure - and I love being able to help point them toward some great places to experience along the way.
But I also know Owosso deserves more than a quick stop - and every guest has access to what we have to offer as well!
Our historic downtown is filled with beautiful architecture, incredible locally owned shops and restaurants, the Shiawassee River, River walk, parks and trails, and pieces of Michigan history tucked throughout the community. There’s Curwood Castle, the Steam Railroading Institute, so many events throughout the year (like the ArtWalk tonight!), and plenty to explore without the crowds of a major city.
You can enjoy the character and slower pace of Shiawassee County’s largest small-town Michigan city while still being within easy reach of the routes that take you north.
Whether you’re heading north, coming home, visiting family, exploring mid-Michigan, or discovering Owosso for the first time, I’d love to host you.
🏡 The Legacy - a spacious 3 queen bed stay with a fenced yard, full kitchen, and covered parking
🏡 The Exchange - a cozy 1 queen bed studio, stocked kitchenette, 2 blocks from the heart of Owosso
Come stay! I’d love to host you! 🫶🏻✨
