Everyone says investment real estate is passive income… tell that to the woman standing on a rooftop at the end of the day chasing electrical problems!

One of my mini-splits had no power, so I started with an electrical panel that wasn’t labeled at all by the previous owner. After testing lines, tracing breakers, climbing around the building, and spending HOURS figuring it all out… I finally got power back to all three units! 🙌

And then… ERROR CODES. 🤦🏻‍♀️

So after all that work, I’m technically right back where I started — I still need help! But I did figure out exactly what every breaker in that panel controls, and I was able to send videos and information to the technician to get the mini-split up and running on Monday.

That’s the reality of owning investment real estate. It isn’t always passive. Sometimes it’s evenings, weekends, rooftops, troubleshooting, and figuring things out as you go. 💪

But the good news? This building will be ready for its next tenant this week! 🏠❤️

Sometimes, being a real estate agent means more than showing houses, writing offers, and putting up “For Sale” signs. ❤️ Sometimes, it means getting the opportunity to walk back through a home that holds a little piece of your heart.

This particular home is one of those places for me. It belonged to two truly wonderful people I had the privilege of knowing my entire life. They had lived in this home for what felt like forever (well past my age and I think even my dads!), and so many memories are tied to these walls. After they passed, their child lived here for a short time before the home eventually sold a few years ago.

Being back here again was such a blessing. I found myself thinking about the people, the memories, and all the little details that made this house so special. I may have teared up just a little here and there as well. ❤️

Anyone who knows me knows my absolute passion for old homes. It’s the craftsmanship, the character, and the details that simply aren’t made the same way anymore. And this home… the intricate woodwork found throughout is absolutely breathtaking. It will forever have a special place in my heart. It was probably the first “old” home I had ever been into when I attend my first homecoming at 6 weeks old.

And my husband is probably pretty thankful this house isn’t in the town we live in… because otherwise, he might have been forced to move. 😂❤️

There’s just something about old houses. They don’t just hold history—they hold memories, stories, and pieces of the people who loved them.
