Handsome adoptable alert 💙📣 Meet our giant (literally) sweetheart, Onyx — an 8 yr old, 100 lb Lab who has touched the hearts of so many and is looking for his perfect forever home.

Onyx came to us from the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility after being returned just days after being adopted- a heartbreaking turn in his journey. He was adopted from a shelter in Florida, Onyx made the trip to New Jersey with his new adopter, in just 48 hours, he found himself back behind kennel doors.

We pulled Onyx about a month ago and he has been doing well in foster. He is energetic, and loves going on walks. He would do best in a home with a yard. He is abundantly loyal, affectionate, and has those gentle Lab heart-melting moments that make every day sweeter.

Onyx would do well in an adult home due to his size and he does have potential to live with another dog with slow intros. He’s affectionate, intelligent, and super eager to be near people, and full of energy. He responds to commands, and shows a gentle, people-oriented personality. He deserves his own family and a home with love, and someone who sees the goodest boy inside.💛
