If you’ve noticed some Airbnb prices creeping up, here’s why.

Airbnb has officially moved to a 15.5% host fee. Previously, hosts paid a much smaller fee and guests paid Airbnb a separate service fee. Now Airbnb is taking 15.5% directly from the host’s side of the booking.

So yes, you may see some of our Airbnb prices increase a little. Not because we suddenly decided our homes are worth more, but because we have to account for a much larger fee if we want to keep providing the same homes, amenities, cleaning, supplies and personal service we always have.

BUT… you have options! ❤️

You can still book our properties through Airbnb, Vrbo, or directly with us. And when you book direct, you’re dealing with the actual people who own and manage the homes, not a big booking platform taking a cut.

We’ll continue to offer whichever booking option works best for you. We just wanted to be upfront about why you may notice a difference in pricing on Airbnb.

We appreciate every single person who chooses to stay with us, whether you find us on Airbnb, Vrbo, or come straight to Country Roads Vacation Rentals. 🏡❤️

AI is funny.. but this is kind of the same feel.. just the house would be behind you instead of across the lake. Although you can go across the lake and fish, there just wouldn’t be a dock!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing guests for another busy summer! ❤️

We’re gearing up to welcome several of our returning guests over the next 2½ weeks as they come to Southern Illinois for the Grand American at the World Shooting Complex. We truly appreciate that so many guests choose to stay with us year after year! While it’ll be a nice little break from the constant house turnovers, the mowing, landscaping, and property maintenance never stop! 🌿🚜

If you’ve been thinking about squeezing in one last summer getaway, we have plenty of availability after August 9 for weekend escapes, family vacations, fishing trips, or simply a relaxing retreat in the country.
