Starting January 5, Toledo residents won’t need to call for bulk garbage pickup. Republic Services will collect up to 5 items on your regular garbage day. Just bundle branches, bag mattresses, and each item under 40 pounds.

❗Reminder: If the pile isn’t compliant, you’ll get a sticker with instructions to correct if for pickup next week. If the same issue occurs, then we’ll come and pick it up.

Changes to Bulk Pickup Are Coming in 2026

Beginning January 5, 2026, Toledo residents will move from monthly scheduled bulk pickup to weekly bulk pickup, in partnership with Republic Services. How it works:

1️⃣ Residents can place up to 5 bulk items at the curb every week

2️⃣ Items must be under 40 lbs each

3️⃣ No scheduling required, bulk items are collected out on your regular trash collection day.

Weekly bulk pickup allows for smaller, more frequent set-outs, helping reduce large piles, improve neighborhood appearance, and make bulk disposal more predictable and accessible for residents year-round.
