Garrett County Celebrates America250

June 5 – Patriot Passport Challenge (runs through August 24)
Pick up a Passport Card at any Ruth Enlow Library branch in Garrett County. Visit each branch to find the Patriot unique to that town and collect a sticker. Finish at the Garrett County Historical Society Museum to learn about an Oakland Patriot, get your final sticker, and deposit your passport for a prize drawing on August 24. Presented by the Ruth Enlow Library and Youghiogheny Glades Chapter, NSDAR.

June 25 – "Celebrating the 250th Anniversary: A Brief Historical Review"
7 pm | Oakland B&O Station and Museum
A historical presentation marking the anniversary. Details at oaklandbandomuseum.org/events.

July 3 – Grave Marking & Patriotic Program
Oakland | Garrett County Historical Society and Yough Glades NSDAR
Featuring patriotic music and an Abigail Adams reenactor.

July 8 – Declaration of Independence Reading & Patriot Profiles
Public reading at the Oakland Gazebo, followed by a Patriot Profiles lecture at the Transportation Museum. Presented by GCHS and Little Meadows Chapter, SAR.

July 18 – Garrett 250 Birthday Bash: Celebrating America Together
Noon–10 pm | Garrett County Fairgrounds, McHenry
A full day of veteran honors, live music, town exhibits, history displays, a car show, and a drone finale at 9:30 pm. Admission by donation. Commissioned by Garrett County Government. More at Garrett250.com.
