We officially became cat people… for about 3 hours. 🐈‍⬛💔

A few weeks ago, Jeremy was watering the garden when a cat in our yard refused to leave. Turns out she had three tiny black kittens hiding in the tree by the fence. They were nearly impossible to see, but somehow this little guy found his way into our hearts.

We lost track of them for a few weeks but today today we discovered them again!

We thought he had chosen us. The boys named him Jamal.

Jamal got food, a bed, a litter box, and approximately 20 minutes of being in our home.

We thought the kitten chose us. 🐈‍⬛❤️

A few weeks ago, we discovered three tiny black kittens hiding in a tree by our fence. This little guy melted our hearts from day one.

Today we brought him home, named him Jamal, bought all the essentials, and fully committed to our new life as cat people.

A few hours later, Rawley’s cat allergies reminded us why we haven’t had a pet in almost 14 years. 😭

Unfortunately, Rawley had not magically outgrown his cat allergy. Watery eyes, sneezing, trouble breathing, and a bloody nose later, Jamal had to be returned to our neighbor.🥹😢

So here we are sad, kittenless, and with a brand-new litter box we don’t know what to do with.

But for a few sweet hours, Jamal was ours. And I’ll forever cherish this photo of Rawley holding the kitten that almost became part

South Meridian or as many call it now, the .me.district 🤍

As someone who actually lives here, I can confidently say… this area is no longer “up and coming.” It has ARRIVED.

Between the amphitheater, Pinnacle Library, Discovery Park, .me.market, community events, and all the growth happening around this area, South Meridian has become one of the most connected and family-friendly parts of the Treasure Valley.

It still somehow feels like a hidden gem… but people are definitely starting to discover it.

One thing I love most is how much there is to DO. There are regular events, markets, sports, food, and activities bringing people together and creating true community.
