Special Olympics Miami-Dade – Miamivicetropics Golf Season Recruitment
We are seeking volunteers for the 2026 Special Olympics Miami-Dade Miami Vice Tropics golf season. Golf experience is preferred but not required. Most importantly, we welcome individuals who enjoy working with others and supporting athletes of all abilities.
Season Kickoff Event
Tuesday, September 2nd
6–8 p.m.
Palmetto Golf Course (152nd Street and US‑1)
Athlete and volunteer assessments, introductions, and team placement.
Paperwork Deadlines
Athletes: Due September 1, 2026
Volunteers, Coaches, Partners: Due September 3, 2026
Weekly Schedule
Practices: Wednesdays, 6–8 p.m.
Volunteers and partners should arrive by 5:30 p.m.
Athletes will be grouped by skill level.
Those who pass the skills assessment may compete to play nine holes with a partner.
Partners must be available for at least six nine-hole rounds, signed by the starter at the facility where they play. Rounds may be completed during Wednesday practices or additional times throughout the week.
Par‑3 courses do not qualify.
Competition Pathway
Advancement is not guaranteed. Competition is challenging and based on performance.

Athletes and partners advancing in the nine-hole competition will have a separate match on Saturday, October 24th (location TBD).
State Games – Orange National Golf Championships
December 3rd–5th
Winter Garden, Florida
Community Service Hours
Students may earn community service hours by volunteering at practices. Roles are available for all experience levels.
