This beautiful woman came to me through a client referral while she was relocating to Miami. We started out searching for a home, and somewhere along the way, found a friendship.
It also got me thinking about how much the way we look for homes has changed.
With AI, Zillow and so much information available at our fingertips, searching for a home has never been easier. But there are still things an online search simply can’t tell you.
As I got to know her and learned more about what brought her to Miami, I began to understand what she was leaving behind, what mattered most to her, and what she wanted this next chapter of her life to look like. Those are things you learn by listening, not “searching”.
What does a home actually feel—or even smell—like? Do the surrounding streets flood after a Miami downpour? Is there construction or future development nearby that could change your view? What about the noise, parking, or building management? Are there ongoing or upcoming renovations that could mean scaffolding outside your windows, construction noise, a closed balcony, or a pool you won’t be able to use for months?
These are the nuances that may never show up online in beautiful listing photos, but can make a very real difference in how you live.
Technology can give us more information than ever. But there’s still something invaluable about local knowledge, personal experience, and human connection! 🏡💛🙏
