It has been a crazy several weeks building and putting up the set for NTPA Grapevine North Texas Performing Arts production of Little Shop Of Horrors, but it’s great to see it once it’s all come together. My awesome wife Jill (they call me Bees) did most of the layout, design and setup and I stood by and complained about the heat for most of it. Other parents did help with the build and put their input in as well.

Every brick on the walls are hand carved and painted, the doors, the windows the shop counter all built from scratch. Jill sourced the majority of the set design from Marketplace and thrift shops, including an actual dentist chair. The ladder, from what we were told, comes from an actual fire escape in NYC. It weighs about 100 pounds and was like 20 feet tall initially.

There was a week in there where Jill and I pretty much didn’t see each other because she was up there until all hours of the night (like, until 5am all hours of the night) making sure the kids had an awesome set to perform with.

Huge thanks to Aaron, Marshall and Darren for helping get it all set up and Becca, Wes and Ashlee for always being willing to jump in and help where needed.

The fall décor on the mantle at 251 Bear Trail wasn't staged for us, that's just what move-in-ready looks like on a Tuesday. Stone fireplace, farmhouse table, a kitchen that's actually finished. Sometimes the best shoot is just showing up when the house is already doing all the work.

A home with personality like this deserves more than a quick photo dump. This one's from a shoot we did last June at 22910 Martes St in Galveston, the teal sofas, the mint kitchen island, the little coastal touches throughout.
