Some career paths are planned. Hawley Abelow’s was set in motion by a move to New Jersey.
Today, Hawley is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, one of the country’s premier regional theaters, known for producing Broadway-quality work right here in our backyard. Recent productions include The Great Gatsby, now in its third year on Broadway, and the upcoming Gun & Powder, which heads to Broadway this fall as Wanted.
What makes Hawley’s story especially meaningful to us is that it all started with a move.
When Hawley and her family relocated to South Orange in 2013, they found more than a home. They found a community. After becoming Paper Mill subscribers, inspired by friends who loved the theater, Hawley joined the organization in 2017 in what she describes as her dream job.
As Hawley says, “I’m constantly reminded how one big decision, moving to New Jersey, ultimately led me to where I’m meant to be.”
