We recently found, rescued and reunited a baby gosling with its family during our family Spring Break trip to the lake!

After the kids found the baby they named her Daisy (this of course was when we thought it was a baby duck at the time)…  so you know we were invested by then. After doing a little research, we knew the baby would probably not survive if it was left on its own due to the cold weather. We took “Daisy”inside for the night, and luckily had some heat lamps and got it to eat a little bit.

The next morning, with plans to take it to the Refuge at Misty Meadow Farm, we spotted a family of geese with 3 goslings. It was then that we realized it was in fact, a baby goose and not a duck. Then we began the reunification process and successfully got the baby back to its family (which included a heroic kayak ride in a box by my husband). I wish we were able to take pictures and videos of that particular moment, but we saw the family several times following that first morning together with their 4 goslings! 🪿🪿🐥🐥🐥🐥
