When in Rome!

If you were ever young and prone to nocturnal activities in the fine city of Grand Forks, then you know how much of a staple The Red Pepper is.

For me, these days, it's more of a nostalgia thing, but it still puts a smile on my face to hit Red Pepper with the boys.

When I'm in Fargo curling with the squad, there's one spot we hit every time. I don't have my ten thousand hours in banh mi experience (yet), but this one is top tier.

The bread is beautifully flaky, the pate is savory and doesn't go overboard with the funk, and the veg is fresh and crunchy. The stuff in the jar is a lemongrass heavy paste with chili and ginger. I THINK it's called Sa Te, but the guy wouldn't divulge that information. Regardless, I would put it on cardboard.

Top tier sando. Always excited to get to Fargo and crush a couple.

The full service grind is always on call, but it's nice to get a couple days off from time to time!

I've chowed down on these damn things three times now, and I can tell you this: I have never had such a problem getting a photo of food before.

The first time wasn't my fault. It was dark and I was outside. Other than that it's just been a complete lack of self control. I managed to get this one before my lizard brain took over.

Some of the best tacos I've had. Anywhere. That green salsa is amazing. (The orange is too, just be ready.)

Usually by the Capri in the evenings. Go get some tacos.

Sour soup? Sour soup. Sour soup!

I'm a fiend for new cuisine. Full disclosure, I didn't really know anything about sinigang (other than I hadn't had it) outside of the gentle warning that "it's sour."

Turns out, it is DELIGHTFUL! Tangy broth and funky, fatty pork go together splendidly. A side cup of sauce to change the flavor as you go. Mop the last sips of broth up with the rice.

Not a bad way to spend a half hour.

If you really know me, then you know how passionate about the glizzies I can be. I'm anything but a purist though. The crazier the toppings on the dog, the more I get interested.

Events Essentials by Yve puts, what I can only imagine, everything from the kitchen on top of this unit. (I promise there's a dog under there, I ate it, I would know.)

Of course I crushed it. It was fantastic! I'm going to be sad when winter rolls around and I can't get my sazón fix.
