Just a little bit of home design inspo for you on this beautiful Monday! What’s your favorite part of this room? For me, it’s the dark built ins 😍😍 would you change anything about this room? I’m thinking I would probably go with a different chandelier.. I like this one, but I feel like there are so many better options for this room. Nonetheless, this design is stunning!!

🌞The Greenhouse Effect🪴

Have you ever really thought about the concept of a greenhouse? Like what it actually does? It creates an ideal environment for plants to flourish in areas where current conditions are too harsh for them to survive. It’s as simple as that. We want them to live and to thrive, so we physically create something to protect them from conditions that will stunt their growth or even kill them.

We take care of our plants like this, but do we take care of ourselves like this? Are we just trying our best to make it through the winter, through the cold and darkness. Are we literally freezing to death just hoping and praying sunlight is around the corner?

We don’t have to just wait for it, we can create our own little human greenhouses! What pushes you to be better? What makes you feel fulfilled and whole in life? What conditions do you need to not just survive, but to THRIVE! Figure out what those conditions are, and create an environment around you that protects you and encourages growth, even in the winter! 🌞🪴

Just so you know, NO ONE NEEDS THIS ADVICE AS MUCH AS I DO! So don’t feel victimized by this post. 😂😂 I am a “new me starting Monday” type of girl. But why are we acting like Monday is the end all be all of routines and change?! Our weeks, our days, and our schedules all look different. For example, it’s Monday for me, (in theory, but realtors work when their clients need them whether that’s a Saturday morning or a Wednesday evening) but is excited for his “weekend” that started this Monday morning!

When you set your mind to being better, developing structure, and creating new habits, just do it. Right then.

Wake up early, complete your daily task list first, make your calls, send out your letters and emails, wrap up anything time pressing, and then move on to your weekly and monthly task lists. It’s that simple, yet we complicate and procrastinate and distract ourselves from handling our business. Just do it. It’s Monday.

Not going to lie to you, my plants are STRUGGLING this winter. Our old house was built in 2003, on a slab, brick, with great insulation. My plants were cozy in the winter, no problems, no stress. Our new house was built in 1904, with a crawl space, and constructed out of **PaPeR** jk jk but it feels like it.

I have to keep in mind that these houses were not made to stay warm, they were made to stay cool! They were designed to circulate cool air in the summer months and allow the warm air to rise to the top of the 12 ft ceilings. And in the winter, they kept warm with the fireplaces. This house has not one, not two, not three or four, but FIVE fireplaces. None of which are operable. 😅

Lol so here is my delimma… keeping my plants near the windows (which are very thin) for sunlight but also trying my best to keep them warm!! 😅😅 please keep us in your prayers. This winter has been rough. 🙏🏼😂

Feeling extra thankful for these beautiful humans today! I have the most amazing friends. Each of them truly good down to their core (even those not pictured here). That’s really all I have to say. Just that I am so, so blessed. 🤍☺️

The inner librarian in me really loves this little reading nook!! The more bookshelves the better, and what a perfect use for this space?! Much better than a Harry Potter closet in my opinion. What do you think???

Are you into the natural wood look? I have been really attracted to this finish in just about every room of the house—kitchens, bathrooms, paneling in hallways, floors, all of it! What do you think about this kitchen? Black countertops on the island, white countertops around the perimeter. Do you like this combo or do you prefer one countertop throughout?
