TEMPLE OF MOBILE LISTED
One of downtown Mobile’s most recognizable buildings is on the market.
Offering a rare chance to buy a landmark property with more than a century of history, 58,000 square feet of space and one of the most distinctive rooftops in the city.
Built around 1921, the Egyptian Revival building was designed by noted Mobile architect George B. Rogers for the Scottish Rite.
The building is currently used as an event space for weddings, Mardi Gras balls, proms and other special events. Its first floor includes a large ballroom with seating for about 1,000 people. The upper floors include a mix of offices, meeting rooms, restrooms and storage areas.
The top floor includes a large temple room and auditorium. Above that, the rooftop was originally used as an outdoor ballroom and theater, with a stage framed by Egyptian obelisks.
