Whether it's finances or freedom, here's why being divorced can potentially be a positive life change once the dust settles.

Having gone through a divorce myself, I know my friend is having a hard time. Still, it can be positive in the long run.

Today I had the honor of attending the “Sí Se Puede Luncheon,” a heartfelt gathering dedicated to honoring the hardworking farmworkers who have fought for dignity, opportunity, and a better life for their families and communities.

It was inspiring to hear Xavier Becerra, son of farmworkers and former 45th U.S. Secretary, share his story and remind us of the strength, resilience, and unity that defines the farmworker spirit. I also want to recognize the organizers and community leaders from Stanislaus County and the City of Modesto who came together to show respect and gratitude to those whose labor feeds our nation.
One of the most emotional moments for me was listening to the Farmworkers Prayer:

Show me the suffering of the most miserable, so I may know my people’s plight.
Free me to pray for others, for you are present in every person.
Help me to take responsibility for my own life, so that I can be free at last.
Grant me courage to serve others, for in service there is true life.
Give me honesty and patience, so that I can work with other workers.
Bring forth song and celebration, so that the Spirit will be alive among us.
Let the Spirit flourish and grow, so that we will never tire of the struggle.
Let us remember those who have died for justice, for they have given us life.
Help us love even those who hate us, so we can change the world.
Amen.“
It brought me back to my childhood memories of visiting my grandparents’ town, watching the dedication it takes to plant, care for crops, and bring the harvest to market. They worked with love, knowing their produce, meat, and milk would nourish families no matter their race, religion, or beliefs. There was pride in feeding their community.

Farmworkers have long fought for fair treatment and recognition, yet they continue forward with the spirit of “Sí se puede” = Yes, it can be done.
Today, I recognize and honor their sacrifices not just on March 31st, but every day. 🌾🙏

Hoy reconozco y honro a todos los trabajadores del campo, no solo el 31 de marzo, sino todos los días.
Su esfuerzo alimenta a nuestras familias y fortalece nuestras comunidades.
Sí se puede. 🌾
