A message from Chantelle:

For nine years, I stepped in alongside my sister, into a business she created. Real estate carried me through some incredible times. It allowed me to stay home with my babies, to work when my husband was home for the day so he could take over with the kids, and allowed me to put some of my creative skills and problem solving to serve clients well. I thought I’d be doing until I was old and grey. And... while I do have some grey’s, and the fine wrinkles appear more and more each time I look closely in the mirror, this chapter is closing sooner than I ever imagined. 

The flexibility that once drew me into the industry is now the main pain-point making me reconsider my path. Choosing to go back to a job with standard hours gives me the freedom to have true days off and be present when my children have extracurriculars, without leaving me feeling like I am unavailable when my clients need me the most. I have so much respect for so many in the industry; especially those who have been able to continue their career in real estate, serve their clients well AND raise families... something I no longer have the capacity to do well. 

While I’m finishing out contracts that are already in motion, I begin a new chapter on Monday in a remote HR position. I am so thankful for the opportunity, and hopeful for the opportunity this will give me to be present with my family. 

Being one of the HomeSmart Sisters was not only an honor, it was a huge gift given to me by my sister. While the beginning of her career was catapulted by genuine interest in real estate (a shared interest with our Grandpa Derryl), for me it was an opportunity handed to me when she saw a chance for me to have the freedom to be home with my babies. I will be forever grateful for the gift she gave me. So if you have a real estate need, you know that I will tell you my sister is the best in the business. If you have ever trusted me to help you in real estate, thank you sincerely for the season you helped support me in.

A week later, it’s BACK ON THE MARKET.

Obviously something is wrong with it.

Probably the inspection.

Maybe the foundation.

Mold??

A haunted crawlspace???

You finally let your Realtor call the listing agent…

There was never an issue with the home. The first buyer had a massive leak in her current home that would take months to remediate so she had to terminate.

You go see it.

It’s perfect.

You almost missed your house because you made up a whole story about a status change. 😂

Moral of the story: Back on market ≠ something is wrong with the house.

Congrats to this home and the sellers for going back under contract!
