In love with a quilt that’s only available overseas (from me)…

I can’t stop dreaming about this quilt - it would be the perfect compliment to my master bedroom cozy vibes! But, it’s sadly available from a shop that does not sell outside of England and Ireland. Does anybody have any creative workarounds they’ve used to get hands on an item that feels out of reach?

What is wrong with my room? How can I achieve a whimsical witch vibe?

Hey everyone. I need your help in decorating my living room. When we moved into this place a year ago, we went for a midcentury vibe. For some reason, it doesn't feel complete and I actually prefer a whimsy, witchy vibe now in the ' most technical' terms. There are some issues I can immediately point out, there are others I need a second (or third, since I live with my husband) pair of eyes. Before we start, I don't like the floor colour, and also the gray and white kitchen but I don't have any intention to spend money on these at the moment. If we stay here for a few more years, then I'll go for oak floors and dark, wooden kitchen cabinets. Until then, this is the space we have. Here are my thoughts:

I just love whimsy, witchy rooms with dark furniture, gold accessories, wall decor etc. I just decided to go back to my gothic roots in my 30s. Our place doesn't feel cosy for me.

We have a lot of mismatched wood. We like dark wood like walnut, mahogany. Our dining table and chairs are in those shades. The orange G Plan TV unit looks a bit odd. We can definitely replace if with something like this but it just doesn't make sense to me to sell an old, teak furniture just because of its colour. It's proper vintage. I keep an eye on the British Heart Foundation's ebay for a nice TV unit but nothing appears. Can I see your TV units, if your room fits into this vibe?

Sofas and an armchair in random colours. I still don't know why we paid £1000 for a pink sofa! I wish we went for gray or navy. I want to replace the yellow Parker Knoll sofa at some point, maybe with another 2 seater or a chaise longue. Suggestions? Colour ideas? I like to put my feet up in the evening so we need an extra, comfortable place to sit.

Coffee table needs to go. We are thinking a) either completely get rid of it and go for nest of tables b) buy a darker wood one.

Carpets and cushions. Is the carpet OK? Where can I find nice cushions, which colours?

Is the wall colour too much? Shall I just go for lighter walls and use green in decor?

Sorry for the long post but I am sure you can help me. I see lots of people with fantastic taste here, it would be great to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

First time designing a home from scratch...

This is the first home I've ever designed. Feeling very lucky to have been able to design this home entirely from scratch and build it at 30. Bought the land and tear-down old cabin at 26. Had to wait several years for a contractor to be available in the small lake-side town, but finally got it started. Almost done now. Would love any thoughts/ideas people have - especially on decor items as I haven't gotten pictures and art yet!

Unrealistic designs that I need to make happen
From Bright Tertiaries, to a 50s/60s sunken-in living room, to this rococo princess style, to the random bohemian tiles. I LITERALLY CANNOT make up my mind. I’m seriously considering having a different aesthetic for each area of the house to be very honest. Like… all of these would make me VERY happy but it’s also VERY expensive.

Any suggestions would be so helpful! We want to keep some of the 70s character in our home. I had thought about using the tub & tile kits but I’ve heard mixed reviews. We will definitely be replacing the vanity, toilet, mirror and lighting.

Any thoughts on how to decorate this bathroom? Wallpaper suggestions, color scheme, etc?

Curtains on top of blinds?
Hi all,

I have the following window and door on my living room, they face a balcony on my 2nd floor. I always wanted to add curtains on top of the blinds but I’m not sure how they will look together. Also, my biggest concern is how should I approach the project, a curtain on the window sounds good, but what should I do with the door? The door opens to the outside. Thanks.

Bathroom Colour to compliment Stained Glass
Bought this beautiful stained glass that I’m using as my bathroom “curtains”. I need to paint the walls though and can’t decide what colour without everything being too much. Floors are black, there’s no backsplash tile yet and there is a clawfoot tub I will paint the outside a fun colour as well. What are some ideas for wall colour? Was thinking maybe a dark grey so the stained glass pops without it being too overwhelming and a green for the tub?

After 1 years of decorating. My
Been slowly and meticulously curating our living space for the past year. Found most things from Facebook marketplace and DIY’ed most it. Painted our own kitchen cabinets, sewn our own curtains, reupholstered our own chairs, refinished and stained our own dining table.

Finally the house feels like a home after one year! Next project is our bedroom!

LOTS of 90s honey oak
We bought this house a year ago, and these pics are from the previous owners, all the furniture shown belonged to them. We're finally in a place where we can start updating things, but now that it’s time to make decisions, I’m completely frozen.

Here’s what I do know:

I’m replacing all the carpet and linoleum with LVP throughout the house.

I’m removing the wallpaper and giving everything a fresh coat of paint.

Here’s where I’m stuck: how do I tone down all the yellow/orange wood without painting it? I don’t want to cover or paint the beams, doors, trim, or cabinets, but I’d love to balance the yellow so the space feels lighter and more updated.

I’m drawn to French country style, if that helps guide any suggestions. What paint colors, flooring tones, or design choices would help calm all this golden oak and make it feel intentional instead of overwhelming?
