⏰ CE DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 30
Active licensees must complete 15 hours of Continuing Education (CE) and pay renewal fees by September 30, 2026, to have an active license issued on October 1.

Not sure how many CE hours you have?
Log in to Online Services at arec.alabama.gov and select Education History (CE Credit) under Available Services. You’ll see the courses for which CE credit has been submitted.

📚 Completed a course that isn’t showing?
Contact the instructor or school directly. Only the instructor or school can upload CE credit to the Commission’s website.

You can click on any course title to view course details and, when available, complete a course evaluation. Course evaluations are available for 30 days, but an expired evaluation does not affect your CE credit.

Once all renewal requirements are satisfied and your active license is issued, the CE courses used for that renewal are archived. You can then begin earning CE for your next renewal period.

Archived and current CE courses can be viewed through the Commission’s website at any time.

📚 EDUCATION PROVIDERS: FINAL CE DEADLINE REMINDER

September 30 is the deadline for active licensees to complete their required Continuing Education.

If you are providing CE courses, please allow enough time for students to:

• Complete their CE by September 30, AND
• Have their CE credit submitted to the Commission by the deadline.

Primary & Secondary Distance Education Providers: Please ensure students complete courses by the deadline previously provided to the Commission.

Classroom Course Providers: Please schedule remaining courses with enough time to submit CE credit by September 30.

A license may be forced inactive if required CE credit is not submitted by the deadline. The Commission will not issue a complimentary license activation because of course credit errors or late entries.

Thank you for helping us ensure Alabama real estate licensees receive their CE credit on time.

Starting September 1, 2026, a $150 late penalty fee was added to the cost of license renewal. All active and inactive licensees must renew to keep their licenses current. Payments made between September 1, 2026, and September 30, 2027, must include an additional $150 fee.

Remember: You must use the email address on file with the Commission to access your account. The Commission does not collect or have access to your password.

Need to reset your email?
From the Online Services login page, select Reset Email and follow the prompts. You’ll need your last name, license number and the last four digits of your phone number.

Forgot your password?
Select Forgot Password, enter the email address on file and follow the instructions sent to your email. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder.

Twenty-five years ago, the events of September 11, 2001, changed our nation forever.

Today, the Alabama Real Estate Commission pauses to remember the lives lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders and ordinary citizens, and reflect on the spirit of service and unity that emerged in the days that followed.

Our work is rooted in service to the people of Alabama, and days like today underscore something important: the communities we serve are built on more than homes and businesses. They are built on people.

Not planning to renew your real estate license?

If you do not plan to renew your license, no action is required. You can disregard the renewal notices you receive, and your license will automatically lapse after the final renewal deadline of September 30, 2027.

You may continue to receive renewal reminders until then. The Commission must notify licensees who have not renewed before the final deadline. However, you can disregard any renewal notices if you do not plan to renew.
