South Carolina is proposing changes to coastal dock regulations. If you own a dock, plan to build one, or work on our waterways, come learn what is proposed and ask questions.

Join us Tuesday, October 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at North Charleston City Hall, 2500 City Hall Lane.

This is a public information session with a presentation and Q&A. Bring your questions. Bring a neighbor. Help make sure the conversation includes the people these rules will affect.

The State has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed dock rules for October 27. It will be canceled unless the Department receives requests from at least 25 people or a qualifying association with at least 25 members by September 28 at 5:00 p.m. Please help make it happen so everyone has a chance to understand the proposed rules, ask questions and be heard. You do not have to own a dock or oppose the changes. Email [email protected] by September 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Use the subject Document 5468 Request for Public Hearing and copy this message: I request a public hearing on proposed Document 5468. Our coastal community needs an opportunity to understand the proposed dock rules, ask questions and provide comments. Thank you. Add your name and town.
