Here’s a great article highlighting some of the upcoming land auctions across Missouri this September.
We’re in the early stages of what will be one of the largest generational transfers of agricultural land in our nation’s history. The American Farmland Trust estimates that nearly 300 million acres of U.S. agricultural land could change hands over the next 20 years, roughly one-third of the farmland in the contiguous United States.
As farms and ranches transition from one generation to the next, it’s important that we do everything we can to keep productive agricultural land American-owned and in production agriculture. Keeping our farmland working and in the hands of those who will continue to steward it plays an important role in our nation’s long-term food security, the strength of our rural communities, and the future of American agriculture.
