So long to some summer beach laws in Myrtle Beach!

Beach laws are more relaxed beginning today, the day after Labor Day, when we are officially out of the peak summer season. Starting today, Sept. 8…

- Dogs and bicycles are permitted on the beach and Myrtle Beach Boardwalk at any time. Dogs must be leashed, and owners are required to clean up after their pets. Seasonal restrictions for dogs and bicycles on the beach and boardwalk return May 1, 2027.

-Tents and shading devices up to 12-by-12 square feet are allowed after Labor Day. They must be placed in line with, or behind, the established umbrella line.

While some beach rules change after Labor Day, others do not! Here’s a short list of year-round Myrtle Beach laws for everyone’s enjoyment of the beach…

• Alcohol is NOT allowed on the beach.
• Glass containers and bottles are NOT allowed on the beach.
• It is illegal to disturb or damage the dunes, sand fencing, sea grass and sea oats. Stay on the paths!
• Metal detecting is allowed on the public beach, but NOT in the dunes, the street ends or any other public property.
• Littering is illegal. Please use the trash and recycling containers provided.
• Items may not be set up on the beach before 8:00 a.m. and must be removed from the beach by 7:00 p.m., daily.
• Metal shovels are not allowed for digging on the beach. Holes can be no deeper than two feet and must be refilled.

Prepare for a day of family fun, community spirit and friendly competition at the Myrtle Beach Duck Festival in The Market Common! 🦆🦆

The event is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, July 25, at the Grand Park lake, 1119 Farrow Parkway. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy live music, local food vendors, a live art exhibit, a jeep and truck show and activities for all ages.

The highlight of the day is the duck race, when thousands of rubber ducks will take to the water and race toward the finish line. The race begins at 4 p.m. Participants can adopt a duck and support their favorite local nonprofit organization.

Each duck adoption helps raise funds for organizations that serve families, children and the community. Nonprofit organizations also compete for additional prize funding and community bragging rights based on race results. ONE WEEK FROM TODAY 🇺🇸✈ SALUTE FROM THE SHORE IN MYRTLE BEACH... 1:03 P.M., JULY 4 🇺🇸

Everyone is welcome to enjoy the annual Salute from the Shore military flyover at the beach on Independence Day, Saturday, July 4. Vintage and military planes will fly down the South Carolina coastline (beginning in North Myrtle Beach) in support of military personnel.

Aircrafts are scheduled to pass through Myrtle Beach around 1:03 p.m., weather dependent. If you plan to attend, deck yourself out in red, white and blue and wave to the pilots! For more information, visit https://salutefromtheshore.org/.
