Homemade Green Apple Oat Soft Chew Greenies for dogs with fresh breath support and gentle digestion
Ingredients:
* 3 cups (240 g) oats (blended into oat flour)
* 3/4 cup (100 g) apple (finely chopped, seeds removed)
* 1/4 cup (60 g) plain yogurt (unsweetened, no added sugar)
* 1/4 cup (60 g) unsweetened applesauce (smooth, no added sugar)
* 1/2 cup (120 ml) water (to help blend and bind)
* 1/2 cup (30 g) spinach (fresh, finely blended for natural green color)
Supplements:
* 1 tsp (5 ml) coconut oil (optional, supports skin and coat health)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Blend oats into a fine flour if not already prepared.
3. In a blender, combine chopped apple, spinach, yogurt, applesauce, and water until smooth.
4. Pour the mixture into a bowl and mix with oat flour to form a soft dough.
5. Roll dough to about 1/2 inch (1.2 cm) thickness and press into silicone molds or shape into small rounds.
6. Place on tray and bake for 25–30 minutes until set but still slightly soft.
7. Turn off oven and let treats dry inside for 30–40 minutes for a chewy texture.
8. Cool completely before serving.
Storage:
Store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days in an airtight container. Freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.
