I wasn’t gonna share this today.

But then I spent about 10 minutes scrolling social media and I was bombarded with messages that I should be making more money, have a bigger house, host fancier parties, have healthier routines, and on and on.

A lot of these things can strike a nerve with me, but as a real estate agent, I get particularly fired up when I see videos that make us feel like we need “more,” “bigger,” “better,” and “Instagram-worthy” homes.

Hear me loud and clear: I love a big beautiful home as much as the next person, but we cannot buy the lie that homes are the square footage or finishes we choose.

Homes are so much more.

This is what home is to me. What would you add to the list?! Let’s embrace the little imperfections that make a house a home ❤️

🎄 Store Christmas decor in labeled bins (I like to use red and green to keep it festive and easy to find in the storage room) ❤️💚

🚂 Refresh play spaces (grab a few stylish storage bins from Target to clean up the kid toys!)

🔋 Replace smoke alarm batteries

🧼 Clean out the fridge and wipe down shelves

🚿 Replace shower curtain liners

🧽 Wipe down fan blades

🛀 Wash duvet covers and sheets (throw in dryer balls with essential oils for a spa scented infusion)

👕 Organize dresser drawers and closets (Donate anything you haven’t worn in the past 12 months)!

💡 Replace burnt out light bulbs

s🧹Remove dust from air vents

📝 Make a list of items to stock up on

🏡 Make a list of HOME GOALS!

Spooky season is REAL and these are proof (especially number 10!) At least for me anyway

If you can't already tell, I LOVE my job. I love talking about it with you right here on 'gram because I genuinely love it and I love making connections with people in my community!
I'm not going to be everybody's cup of tea, but I'd hate for you to forget that I was an agent and work with somebody you wouldn't have a BOO-tiful experience with!

Truth is, I believe everyone should LOVE who they hire to work for them, whether it's your OB, your dentist, your plumber, and yes, your agent, too!

That's why I keep showing up here...to remind you that I'm always here, ready to help you, whenever you're ready!

Let me start by saying: I am not Chick-Fil-A, I can't make everyone happy (there are still people who don't like CFA)! My point being.. this post isn't to say that I'm the right fit for you (necessarily), I just want to point out a few things that you should look for!

1. You know that feeling when something just feels right? The shoe fits, the throw pillow matches the color scheme.. make sure the agent *feels* like the right fit. Trust your gut!

Do they make you feel pressured? Are they pulling out contracts to sign before they've even learned anything about you? Do they start the conversation with "I'm the best xyz"? You'll know if it feels like the right fit!

2. Look for someone with the heart of a teacher (Hi, 🙋🏻‍♀️ I was one!😉) - Now more than ever, it is so, so important to be educated about the market, the process and what to be prepared for before vou ever step foot into MLS.

Before you ever even schedule a zoom call with the agent, are they educating you on this platform? Are they explaining what they cover in that zoom call? What does working with them look like? How are they going to set you up for success?

3. Social Media Savvy: Let me preface this by saying by no means am I suggesting that you need a real estate agent who has gone viral on TikTok. Not at all! But I believe social media is a critical tool for agents to be using. Not only does it allow them to network with agents all over the country (including having exposure to the city your home is located in), it also means they are on top of marketing trends that can maximize your home's exposure!

4. Are they a local agent? Do they have knowledge of the area (& market) your home is located in? Understanding the market for strategic pricing as well as being aware of local hot spots, amenities and attractions is essential to your home sale success!

Starting to think about where you are going to see the fireworks this year? 🎇🎆

Here's a list of where you can go in Naperville and a number of surrounding suburbs.

We always head to Romeoville on the 3rd. I'll let you in on a little secret 🤫 If you head to the stores located at the corner of Airport Rd. and Weber Rd. you can watch all 3 shows at once!

Below are some of my favorite coffee shops in Naperville & the surrounding suburbs. Are you looking to grab a delicious coffee on the go? Are you looking for a place to work for the day? Or maybe you are looking for a place to meet up with a friend... You can't go wrong with these choices.

📍 Naperville, IL
Sparrow Coffee
Located in Downtown Naperville so you can easily grab a coffee and walk over to your favorite shop, walk the Riverwalk or stay and enjoy the ambiance of the coffee shop. My personal favorite is their iced caramel latte and their pastries....YUM!

📍 Plainfield, IL
Krema Coffee House
Krema is located in the heart of Downtown Plainfield. There is also a second location in Lockport, IL. If you know me, you know I love Cold Brew sso that is my go-to choice here. Coffee lovers can join their Coffee Club for $20/month. Fun fact - you can also add 20mg of CBD to any drink.

Oak + Bean
There's something about this coffee shop that makes me want to go camp out here for the day and work. Maybe it's because I can start with a coffee and move to wine later on. Talk about my kinda place! Their toasts are to die for. The Fig & Prosciutto is my personal fav.

𝐒weetwaters Coffee & Tea
Another great Downtown Naperville spot. They have a variety of coffee drinks, teas, pastries, sandwiches and desserts. The Dragon Eye, one of their signature coffees, is my go-to. If you have a sweet tooth check out their desserts - they will make your mouth water!

Mud and Char
Talk about a cute place! I love everything about this place from their decor to their cups. It's all Instagram worthy, if ya know what I mean. Everything is delish. My personal favs are the Power Bowls and their caffe latte.

Their Honey Spice Latte is sooo good. All their food is tasty, so you really can't go wrong. Not only can you go enjoy a cup of your favorite coffee, but you can also host an event here!
