Florida’s housing story is more complex than just a shortage—it’s about finding the right fit for buyers at every stage of life. I see this firsthand in Naples and across the state: available homes often miss the mark when it comes to budget, location, or lifestyle needs, whether you’re a growing family, a downsizing retiree, or an investor. Our state is a preview of what happens when a market filled with longtime owners and older homes doesn’t always align with what the next generation wants—or can afford.
Affordability here means looking beyond the listing price. Insurance costs, association dues, maintenance, storm risks, and even how you’ll get around all play a role in whether a home really works for you.
