Summer travel & shenanigans 🐴🐱

We drove 6-ish hours to a barrel race a couple months ago. IT WAS HOT!

I had enough hay bags ready that I didn’t even need to open the hay pod the first day…
Next day I pop it open and THERE sits my daughter’s beloved cat, curled up like she’d planned the whole trip. I immediately shut it, ran to Target for the only kennel they had + some cat food, raced back to the fairgrounds, assembled the kennel, and got her moved.

What a surprise… and definitely a first for us! 😂
Anyone else’s barn cat ever stow away for a show?

Quick Facts on Property Taxes & Estate Planning
If you’re 65+ (not 64), you may qualify for a Senior Valuation Freeze at your county assessor’s office. It locks in your home’s assessed value (great for controlling tax increases), as long as you meet homestead rules + income limits (often ~$99k household, varies by county). Apply Jan–March!
You can also use a Transfer-on-Death on your real property so it passes directly to your beneficiary without probate. Record it properly while you’re alive.

Check with your county assessor and an estate attorney for details—rules vary! 🩵
