Happy anniversary to the Emerald Coast !
🎂 Join us in celebrating the symbol of a 55th anniversary ... emerald.
Visitors come to Gulf Islands National Seashore to enjoy the clear, emerald colored water all year round.
The Emerald Coast is an unofficial name for the coastal area in Florida along the Gulf that stretches about 100 miles through five counties—which includes Fort Pickens, Santa Rosa (Opal Beach), and Perdido Key (Johnson Beach) Areas.
Here's to hoping the seashore will be here for another 55 years for visitors to enjoy. Today we challenge you to take a walk and try to pick up as much trash as you can to prevent it from polluting the ocean.
Learn about how you can be a good steward of the seashore at www.nps.gov/subjects/oceans/living-blue.htm
