Atlas, the star I followed to a new beginning.

Almost 13 years ago, a litter of puppies came into my life in the most unexpected way. I had been in Canada camping with family and when I returned home, Fossey wasn’t acting normal. I called the veterinary office, then loaded her up in my Subaru to take her in to get looked at. I wasn’t even half way to town when I heard squeaking in the back seat. I figured out what was going on with her, she was having puppies! Surprise! I continued to the vet office where she was looked at. Two were born and three more were coming. The serendipitous cosmic litter that was meant to be were born on Friday, July 13th, the luckiest day of my life.

Knowing I couldn’t keep all the puppies, I began asking around looking for the perfect active homes for a couple of them. That led me to the Sports Rack, which led me to Collin. That first year, Collin and I became the best of friends which resulted in Wynnie, marriage and a company we named in honor of Atlas.

Atlas was the start of it all. He was the reason for everything I have today. I cannot express the amount of love and gratitude I have for him. He was the star I followed to a new life of happiness.

Atlas, refers to a star system of the Pleiades cluster. This star cluster is also the inspiration for the Subaru brand name and logo (the cosmic puppies were born in the Subaru). It is one of my favorite constellations to get lost in staring at the night sky. It has always been my first point of reference for navigating constellations. It is no surprise Atlas led me to the life I was meant for. I just needed to follow him.
