A man nicknamed the “squatter hunter” has developed an unusual way to help homeowners reclaim properties taken over by strangers.

He moves in with them.

Flash Shelton, a California handyman, first used the tactic after squatters occupied his mother’s vacant home.

Instead of waiting months for a legal eviction, his mother signed a lease making him the property’s official tenant.

Shelton entered the house, installed security cameras and began living alongside the unwanted occupants.

He made it clear that he had no intention of leaving before they did.

The squatters reportedly moved out that same day.

Shelton later began helping other homeowners facing similar situations.

After confirming that the occupants are genuine trespassers rather than lawful tenants, he may obtain a lease from the owner and move into the property himself.

He records every interaction, occupies the shared spaces and applies constant pressure until the squatters decide that staying is no longer worth it.

Some online are against this, but Sheldon says his goal is to use the squatters’ own tactic against them.

They move into someone else’s home and refuse to leave.

So he moves in with them and refuses to leave first.
