Today was one of those days that caught me off guard.

I spent the day doing what most people would consider real estate things. Picking up signs. Meeting with clients. Taking listing photos. Following up on conversations. Preparing for new listings. Hosting an open house. Working through all of the moving pieces that come with helping people buy and sell homes.

But somewhere within all of that, I found myself sitting outside the office talking with people from the community. Brainstorming business ideas. Working on Rotary projects. Finalizing a community raffle. Talking about upcoming events. Dreaming about what comes next for our town with people who care deeply about it.

And I had this moment where I looked around and thought, “Wow
this is exactly what I hoped HomeGrown would be.”

It’s easy to say real estate is about buying and selling houses. But for me, it has never been just about a sign in a yard.

It’s about relationships. It’s about community. It’s about helping people plant roots and create a life they love in a place they love.

When I started HomeGrown, I wanted to build something that felt connected to the community. A business that cared about more than transactions. A business that showed up for local events, supported local organizations, celebrated local businesses, and helped create the kind of place people are proud to call home.

Today felt like a reminder that we’re doing exactly that.

Not every day feels magical. Most days are busy, messy, and filled with to do lists. But every now and then there’s a day that makes you stop for a second and realize you’re building something you truly believe in.

Today felt a little like that.

And for that, I’m incredibly grateful đŸ€

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve had more conversations about downtown revitalization.

The common theme? The importance of investing in local businesses, creating spaces that bring people together, and continuing to build healthy, thriving downtowns that serve both residents and visitors.

As those conversations kept happening, my mind kept coming back to a historic building I currently have listed right here in New Market.

One of my favorite parts of real estate is seeing potential. When I created HomeGrown, the vision was never just about opening an office. It was about taking an older building, honoring its history, and transforming it into a space that felt welcoming, comfortable, and connected to the community around it. A place where people wanted to gather.

So naturally, when I walk through a building like this one, my imagination starts running.

What if it became an intimate wine bar? A boutique featuring local makers? An apothecary filled with handcrafted goods? A cozy spot for tea, pastries, and conversation?

These aren’t actual plans for the building, just a few fun concepts I put together to showcase the incredible possibilities that exist within these walls.

Scroll through and take a look at some of the ideas I’d love to see brought to life in this beautiful historic space.

Because sometimes the most exciting part of a building isn’t what it is today. It’s what it could become.

New blog is out ⭐

June is National Homeownership Month, and it got me thinking about what homeownership really means.

Yes, it’s one of the biggest financial decisions many of us will ever make. There are budgets to consider, maintenance to plan for, and a lot of important decisions along the way.

But it’s also where so much of life happens.

It’s the holiday dinners, the backyard conversations, the projects that somehow take twice as long as expected, and the little moments that slowly turn a house into a home.

This week’s blog explores five important things to think about before becoming a homeowner and five of the reasons so many people find it worth it.

Whether you’re already a homeowner, thinking about buying your first home, or somewhere in between, I hope it serves as a reminder that homeownership is about so much more than owning property.

It’s about creating a place that feels perfectly yours đŸ€

May wasn’t the month I expected, but maybe that’s what made it memorable.

I didn’t finish the book I started. A few real estate transactions tested everyone’s patience. There were moments that felt busy, messy, and a little chaotic.

But there was also a first book club meeting, a Mother’s Day Market I absolutely loved hosting, Cinco de Mayo with friends, finishing my Star Wars marathon, meeting incredible people in the community, and officially joining Rotary.

When I look back, May wasn’t really about checking every box on a goal list.

It was about showing up, building relationships, creating memories, and continuing to invest in the people and places that matter.

Here’s to a fresh month, a fresh chapter, and whatever June has in store. 🌿
