“Mortgage rates have fallen below 6 % for the first time in more than three years, offering a glimmer of hope that a frozen housing market may be set to thaw.

The average 30-year mortgage rate in the United States fell to 5.98 percent, the mortgage-financing giant Freddie Mac said Thursday, down from nearly 7 percent around the same time last year. The last time the rate was below 6 percent was in September 2022.”

Congrats are in order to my amazing client on closing of the sale of her first home. It is such a bittersweet and exciting moment all in one, and I’m so happy I could be part of this journey with her.

A quick full-circle moment-Stephanie’s dad, Kevin, and his wife, Michelle, were actually my very first real estate clients when I started three years ago. Holiday Lights at Baton Rouge General – Baton Rouge
• Located at the Bluebonnet campus (corner of Bluebonnet Blvd & Picardy Ave), this display is free and open nightly beginning at 5:30 p.m. through December 31.

Louisiana Lights – Baton Rouge (Burden Museum & Gardens)
• Running from November 28 to December 30, this immersive light display turns lush gardens into a glowing winter wonderland.

Baton Rouge ZooLights – Baton Rouge Zoo
• A festive trail through the zoo with hundreds (if not thousands) of holiday lights, holiday-themed displays, and seasonal charm.

The Merriest Mile – Livingston Parish (Livingston Parish Fairgrounds)
• A drive-through, mile-long light spectacular with synchronized lights and music, complete with a 50-foot “MegaTree,” animated scenes, and holiday surprises along the way.

Old Dutchtown Christmas Lights Show – Gonzales / Ascension Parish
• A local favorite for the holidays houses in the Old Dutchtown subdivision go all out with lights, festive decorations, and community holiday spirit.
