Day 338-

Life is a series of choices and challenges. When you focus on the challenge and begin looking for solutions, you create an opportunity to overcome and grow through it. But when you dwell on the problem and become stuck in it, you often remain in the same place—next week, next month, even next year—because your focus never moved beyond the obstacle itself.
Don’t be the problem—be the solution, the problem solver. Anyone can point out what’s wrong, complain, or stay stuck in frustration. But those who grow, lead, and overcome are the ones willing to seek answers, create solutions, and keep moving forward.
It’s not always that you couldn’t overcome the situation; sometimes it’s that you chose not to move forward through it. A problem-focused mindset keeps you stuck, but a solution-focused mindset opens the door for growth, change, and opportunity. Instead of focusing on why something can’t be done, focus on what can be done. Be the person who brings wisdom, peace, direction, and solutions into the room—not more confusion.

Day 337

Now that we can almost see the end of the tunnel, don’t get lazy! Don’t slack off, start doing things halfway, or lose your integrity just because you’re tired and ready for it to be over. Keep pushing forward with the same consistency, discipline, and excellence you started with.
Here’s a real-life “Crystal experience” for you. 😂
When we first moved into our house two years ago, I made sure everything was on point — spotless, organized, always “show-ready.” But as time went on, I started slacking a little. I’d vacuum here and there, wash clothes only when the basket overflowed, and occasionally leave dishes in the sink until the next morning.
Well today… I saw an uninvited guest crawl across my floor. 😳
Now many of you know: I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs… and I especially don’t do uninvited bugs!!
Immediately, it was war. I swept, vacuumed, emptied every trash can, and sprayed the entire house from bottom to top and top to bottom. In fact, I'm sitting outside on the porch writing this waiting for the fumes to die down.

Hatch said, “That’s just part of living in the South.” And maybe he’s right. Maybe they were always there and I just never noticed them before. But now that I’ve seen one? Absolutely not. 😂
And it made me think… what if I had kept up the same routine and level of discipline I had in the beginning? Would I have seen anything besides a clean and sanitized floor? I don’t know. But at the very least, I would’ve known I wasn’t creating an environment that invited unwanted guests to hang around on the hill.
The lesson? Don’t get comfortable just because things are flowing on easy street. Stay diligent. Stay disciplined. Keep things in order. Keep putting your best foot forward even when nobody’s watching.
Because what you consistently allow, tolerate, or ignore has a way of eventually showing itself.
So protect your peace, your home, your habits, your relationships, your mind, and your environment. Be intentional about what you allow in your space. Invite what belongs — and deal quickly with what doesn’t.

Day 336-

We’re only 30 days away from our goal! Wow… how did the time pass so quickly?

So now what? What do we focus on? Do we dwell on what we did or didn’t accomplish along the way? Or do we lock in, shift into high gear, and finish strong? Do we spend our time wondering what’s next, or do we begin preparing and making plans for the future ahead?

There may not be a right or wrong answer, but some choices will move us forward more than others.

Maybe the better question is: how do we want to finish this journey? Tired and distracted… or focused, intentional, and giving it our all until the very end?

Something to think about.

Day 335

His mercies are new every morning! His goodness and mercy follow me everywhere I go. That means each new day comes with a fresh supply of His love, grace, and compassion—not only for me to receive, but for me to pour out onto others as well.

Every sunrise is a reminder that God hasn’t forgotten me, given up on me, or run out of mercy. His love is renewed daily, overflowing into every area of my life so I can walk in peace, extend kindness, show grace, and be a reflection of Him to everyone I encounter.

Day 334-
Living life on the ledge.

What does it mean to live life on the ledge? It means living at the end of yourself — going as far as you can in your own strength, then taking the next step completely by faith, trusting God from that point on.

Yes, we do our part. We move forward with wisdom, obedience, and diligence, knowing we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Trusting that God has already prepared the path before us and has plans for us to prosper, grow, and walk in purpose.

Living life on the edge of the ledge means believing that God’s Word, when truly believed and properly applied, cannot fail. It means trusting Him even when you can’t see the whole picture.

Last week while sitting in the doctor’s office with Millie, a man walked in carrying a bag overflowing with prescription medications. Laughing, he said, “Y’all got me out here looking like a drug dealer with all these pills.”
The sad part was… he wasn’t the only one.

And while medicine can certainly have its place, it made me think about how far we’ve drifted from the simple principles God gave us for living. The Bible teaches us to care for our bodies and minds: eat wisely, drink water, rest, exercise, release fear, let go of stress, pray, meditate on the Word, and guard the words that come out of our mouths. Speak life. Speak what God says — not defeat, no sickness, don’t worry, and we’re not hopeless.

So many people live overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, and disconnected from the peace God freely offers. Then we wonder why our bodies break down under the weight of it all.

God never intended for us to live bound by fear or dependent on temporary fixes while ignoring the spiritual and practical principles that bring life and peace. His Word says, “By His stripes we are healed.” That healing touches not only the body, but the mind, heart, and soul as well.

Living on the edge of the ledge is ultimately about surrender. It’s about trusting God enough to step beyond fear, beyond logic, and beyond self-reliance. It’s choosing faith over fear, peace over panic, and God’s promises over what the world says is impossible.

And honestly… there’s no greater way to live.

Day 333-

Be specific in what you ask for!
How often have we prayed for something in general, without ever sharing the true details of our heart’s desire?
A few years back, I really wanted the new Mountaineer SUV. One day, I felt impressed in my spirit to go to the dealership, sit in it, test drive it, get the brochure, and hang a picture of it on the fridge. Keep it in sight so I could remember to thank God for my new truck every time I looked at it.
Do you know that when it was finally delivered to our driveway, it was exactly like the picture — down to the smallest detail? I hadn’t even realized some of the features it came with: premium package, AWD, upgraded wheels… every detail matched. But God! He answered my prayer and gave me the desires of my heart.
Last week, I picked up my favorite four-year-old. The moment I walked through the door, I heard:“Nanna Crista, can we pleeease go to Chick-fil-A?”
Normally, she doesn’t even ask — she just assumes that’s where we’re going. So I teased her a little.
“You don’t want McDonald’s?”“Nope. Chick-fil-A.”
“What about Taco Bell?”“Nope.”
“Burger King?”“Nanna Crista… can we PLEASE go to Chick-fil-A?”
She made her request very clear. Then she went on to explain how all the mommies and daddies take their kids there to play, make friends, and eat ice cream. Honestly, this child could be their commercial spokesperson and have the whole town headed there. 😂
On the way, she said, “Play some music.”So I turned on a worship song from my playlist.
“What is that?” she asked.“You don’t like it?”“No. Play something else.”
So I switched to her nursery rhyme playlist.“That’s better!” she said.
She cracks me up.
But it made me think… she asked for music, but she wasn’t specific the first time. Because she didn’t say what kind of music she wanted, she got whatever I chose. She had to clarify that she wanted her kids’ songs — “The Wheels on the Bus” type music.
And isn’t that how we are sometimes in prayer? We ask generally instead of specifically. We say we want “better,” “more,” or “a blessing,” but never fully express the details of what’s truly in our heart.
The Bible says, “You have not because you ask not.”So when we bring our requests before the Lord, let’s be honest, detailed, and specific — while still leaving room for Him to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think.
