Day 358-
It’s raining, it’s poring, there goes our plans for today.
Don’t let what you see in front of you, keep you from seeing what you can’t see.
The clouds may have rolled in and the sky may have changed its mind, but that doesn’t mean the day has lost its value. Sometimes the interruption is the invitation. The delay is the direction. What feels like a setback can become the very thing that opens your eyes to a different possibility.
We often focus so much on what isn’t working that we miss what is quietly unfolding around us. A closed door can reveal a new path. A canceled plan can create space for a better one. Not every opportunity arrives looking like an opportunity.
So take a breath. Listen to the rain. Let go of the expectation that everything has to happen exactly as you imagined. There is still beauty to be found, lessons to be learned, & moments worth embracing.

What you can see is only part of the story. Keep your heart open to what you can’t see yet. Sometimes the best things are forming behind the clouds.

Day 357-

In Matthew 13, the Bible says, “He who has ears, let him hear.” It speaks not only of natural sight and hearing, but of spiritual eyes that see and ears that hear.
As Millie has grown older, her eyesight has faded. Now she can only make out my eyes and red lipstick, and only when I stand directly in front of her on her right side.
In many ways, I’ve become her eyes.
But I don’t simply take her hand and lead her everywhere. I encourage her to use her “hot wheels”—her walker—and guide her with my words, much like the Holy Spirit guides us.
I tell her, “Turn a little to the left.” “Come forward.” “Stop right there.” “Now reach out.” “You’re doing good.”
Sometimes I let her bump into things—not anything harmful, but enough to help her learn. I want her to keep using her problem-solving skills and remember that diminished sight does not make her helpless.
I’m helping her maintain a measure of independence so she can still feel capable, useful, and alive.
Though her eyesight is nearly gone, she can still enjoy the sun. She may no longer see it shine as she once did, but she loves feeling its warmth on her skin.
And though her hearing has weakened, life has not gone silent. If anything, it may filter out some of the world’s noise. What a lesson.
Sometimes God doesn’t carry us every step because He is teaching us to walk by faith. He doesn’t remove every obstacle, but He gives direction. He speaks, corrects, warns, and comforts. If we listen, we learn to keep moving forward even when we cannot see the whole path.
Growing older doesn’t mean fading away in a rocking chair or recliner. As long as there is breath, there is purpose. There is joy, sunshine to feel, laughter to share, wisdom to offer, and life to enjoy.
Eyes may grow dim. Ears may grow weak. Steps may slow. But the spirit can remain strong.
So let those who have ears, hear. Let those who have eyes, see. And let those who still have breath, live.

Day 356-

I heard a teacher say, “It’s not God keeping you from your destiny—it’s the enemy!”
Think about it. If God knew you before you were born, created a plan for your life, and already set aside provision for the vision He placed inside of you, why on earth would He be the one trying to keep you from it? Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose?
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God’s plans are for good and not for evil—to give us a future and a hope. So if God is the One who designed the plan, prepared the promise, and placed purpose inside of you, then the resistance is not coming from Him.
But the enemy? That’s a different story.
The enemy does not want you to complete what God started in you. He wants to derail you, defeat you, discourage you, depress you, distract you, and delay you. Notice all those words start with “D”—because the devil is always trying to destroy what God has destined.
Jesus told us plainly in John 10:10 that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly.
So what do you do?
You stop blaming God for the battle and start recognizing the real enemy.
You pray. You stand. You speak the Word. You guard your mind. You stop giving your distractions more attention than your destiny. You stop letting discouragement convince you that delay means denial. You stop surrendering your promise just because the process got hard.
The enemy only fights what he fears. If he’s coming after your peace, your purpose, your family, your faith, or your future, it’s because there’s something valuable on the other side of your obedience.
Don’t quit now.
God didn’t bring you this far to abandon you. He didn’t give you the vision just to watch it die. He didn’t call you, equip you, and make room for you just to leave you stuck.
The opposition may be real, but so is the promise.
So get up. Dust yourself off. Put on the full armor of God. Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep declaring what God said over what the enemy is trying to show you.
Because it’s not God keeping you from your destiny.
It’s the enemy trying to convince you to give it up before you get there.

Make today amazing!

I found this on fb and thought to share it.

SURRENDER
Have You Mended Your Sails?
You may ask, "How should I approach the Spirit? How can I become ready to receive Him?"

Perhaps I should ask you a question or two. Is your ship ready to sail? Is it seaworthy? Have you mended the sails?

Are they ready to receive the wind of the Spirit when He begins to breathe on you?
It's like preparing for marriage. You spend time in thought and preparation for that moment you stand before the sacred altar. Then you make a vow "to have and to hold from this day forward." You actually give yourself to your spouse. It's an unselfish act of loving surrender. And from that time forward a unique bond of fellowship is created and is known only to a husband and wife.

But what happens when you take back part of yourself that was committed in marriage? "You can't have that! It's mine!" And what if your spouse says the same? It would create a barrier in your relationship. The union would begin to crumble. The fellowship would begin to falter. Only total surrender brings total communion. It produces love and understanding. There is only one way to restore a broken relationship.

Like the sail on a vessel, you cannot remain strained and uptight. Just the opposite, you must be flexible and yield— actually surrender to a new infilling of love.

The moment you surrender to the Lord, He will fill you with His Spirit. You don't need to beg for the infilling. And it doesn't require a bucket of tears. All it takes is a total surrender to Christ and a willingness to embrace His precious Holy Spirit.

Total surrender brings total infilling, and total submission brings total fellowship.

But just as in marriage, you've got to work at it every day: "Jesus, I love you"; "Father God, I adore you"; "precious Holy Spirit, I long for your fellowship." If you neglect communicating just one day, the next time it's a little harder."Father God, I adore you"; "precious Holy Spirit, I long for your fellowship." If you neglect communicating just one day, the next time it's a little harder.

Day 354-

Let the mind of Christ be your first thought…and your last.

My baby called to tell me that after thirty days of waiting, her furniture was finally going to be delivered. The problem was, she had to work during the delivery window. So, to help her out, I decided to stay home from church and meet the drivers in her place.

There was still a balance due, but in her heart, she felt the company hadn’t kept their end of the contract. She felt mistreated, overcharged, and taken advantage of as a young, single woman. From her perspective, after all the inconvenience they had caused, they owed her—not the other way around.

And all night long, my mind went to work.
How should I handle this?
Should I keep my hand in my purse just in case I need to give them a piece of my mind?
Should I call the police if things get heated? Should I prepare myself for a dispute, a scene, or a public disturbance? Should I put on that old nature—the one I used to wear before Christ started changing me?

Then, after the morning alarm
went off, i rolled over and asked Hatch, “How do you think I should handle this?”

Without hesitation, and with kindness in his voice, he said, “With a good attitude. Offer them some water.”
Water? Kindness? A good attitude?

They tried to get over on my baby! That means war!!

None of those things had made it onto my list of options.
But they should have.

Being an example of Christ should have been my first thought. Leaving a lasting impression of His love should have been my last.

That’s why the Word tells us to renew our minds daily. Because if we don’t, the old nature will try to rise up and answer first. Offense will try to take the lead. Frustration will try to justify itself. And before we know it, we’re responding like the world instead of reflecting Christ.

I shouldn’t let the enemy see that he has irritated me. I shouldn’t give offense a seat at my table. I shouldn’t allow someone else’s wrong behavior to pull me out of Christs’ character.

When we keep our eyes on the Word and do what Jesus says to do, we overcome the world—not by acting like it, but by imitating God. We walk in love. We respond with grace. We choose kindness when our flesh wants confrontation.

Because sometimes the real test isn’t whether we were treated right. Sometimes the real test is whether we still act right.

Did she get her stuff? She did.
Did Hatch have to bail me out of jail? No, I didn't have to hurt anyone. Did she end up paying the balance? She did. But, I prayed and believe that God will restore to her in full and more what the enemy stole in her finances and her peace. Cause, that’s the kind of God we serve!

Day 353-

This morning, while watching Warrior Notes, I heard Kevin Zadai ask a powerful question:

If angels are always with us to protect us, why don’t they keep us from sinning?

The answer was simple, but it hit deep: free will.

Angels can be assigned to protect us, guide us, and assist us, but they cannot override the power of choice God gave us. They can stand right there while we use our free will to override their assignment.

When we choose to sin—when we choose to go against God’s Word—we are not just making a “mistake.” We are stopping, delaying, or interfering with what God wants to do in our lives by disobedience.

God did not stop Adam and Eve in the garden.
He did not stop Judas from betraying Jesus.
He did not force obedience.

He gave us the power of choice, instructions to choose wisely, and the wisdom to understand that every choice carries consequences.

Yet so many times, when those consequences show up, we want to blame God.
“Why did God allow this?”
“Why did God do this to me?”

But the truth is, God did not do it to us. We did it to ourselves through our own choices.

What really struck my spirit was when Kevin said that when we make bad choices, it does not only affect us. It affects the Body of Christ.

Someone may be watching our lives. Watching our words. Watching our behavior. Watching how we respond, how we treat people, what we allow, and what we excuse.
And when they see us choosing the same things we claim to be delivered from, they may think, “What’s the point of getting saved if Christians are doing the same thing as everybody else? Such hypocrites!”

That is a sobering thought.

When we choose sin, we do not only shine a bad light on ourselves. We can also misrepresent Christ, because we are part of one body.

(Self-Centeredness: The Root of All Grief" a book written by Andrew Womack.)

Adam and Eve took one bite of the forbidden fruit, and that one act of disobedience affected every generation after them.

So yes, it matters what we do.
It matters what we say.
It matters how we live.
It matters what choices we make when nobody is watching—and when everybody is watching.

Sin is not worth the consequences. So today, let’s choose wisely. Let’s make healthy, God-minded choices.
Let’s live in a way that honors the Lord and reflects Him well.

Make today amazing.
