Catch a view of the first summer sunsets from the water ⛵️ Public sails in Poughkeepsie this Thursday night

Explore the Hudson River aboard the Sloop Clearwater, “America’s Environmental Flagship,” from the beautiful Poughkeepsie Waterfront. Waryas Park is adjacent to the Poughkeepsie train station, which offers Metro-North Railroad and Amtrak service, so getting there is a breeze.

Don’t forget to visit the crew at the fish tank to see some Hudson River critters, join the captain at the helm to take a turn on the tiller and enjoy Clearwater’s traditional moment of silence broken by song before returning to the dock. Each sail is a journey to fully realize the beauty of the Hudson River Valley, tall ship sailing and local environmental concerns.

Sails are scheduled for June 25, 26 and 27, 2026, from 5:30–8 p.m.

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of wagyu, tuna sushi & lobster rolls on Sunday, June 21st. Plus, live music, cold sake and beer!

*Wagyuman will serve his famous A5 Takamori Wagyu Steak Dogs and will offer A5 Takamori Wagyu steaks for purchase to take home.

FYI, Takamori Wagyu is a rare Japanese Wagyu from Yamaguchi Prefecture, fed a unique diet that includes sake kasu (sake lees) from DASSAI Brewery in Japan.

*Michelin-starred Chef Tasuku Murakami will prepare tuna sushi and tuna rolls!

*Lobster rolls & more from Cousins Maine Lobster food truck.

Everything will kick off with a parade at 12:30PM down Main Street to Waryas Park! If you want to join in, lineup begins at 11:30AM at Marshall & Sterling Parking Lot at 110 Main Street.

The Chasing Daylight 5K is a high-energy
community race supporting Hudson Valley
nonprofits. Starting at the iconic Walkway Over the
Hudson and finishing at the MJN Center at sunset,
this event blends an unforgettable run with a
meaningful cause. Run, walk, or cheer—everyone is
welcome!

How it works: Participants choose a nonprofit, with
25% of their registration fee donated directly.
Nonprofits can also earn bonus funding based on
team performance:

1st place: $5,000
2nd place: $3,000
3rd place: $1,000
The race ends at the MJN Convention Center with a
post-race celebration featuring food, drinks, a live DJ,
vendors, raffles, games, and a 360 photo booth.

Every Wednesday from June 3 through August 26, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation welcome an eclectic mix of talented local musicians into the park to bring Walkway Over the Hudson’s Ulster Welcome Center Plaza to life with free live music from 6-7 p.m.

These concerts are open to everyone and suitable for all ages. Bring chairs and blankets!

In the event of inclement weather, cancellation information will be posted atop walkway.org and on Facebook.
