Today I wore my educator’s hat and hosted a story time with City Councilmember Melinda Liu at Marco Polo Children’s School.

I made a book for the children about the city of Irvine, and we enjoyed reading it together.

Afterward we had fun at the craft table and the photo booth.

I love bringing the community together — giving parents a place to find resources and connect with each other.

One of my favorite parts of working in Irvine is getting to know the people who make it feel like home 🏡

This Thursday, Irvine City Councilmember Melinda Liu is joining a story time for local families — reading to the kids, taking their questions, and staying for photos afterward.

When I met Melinda, I found we had more in common than I expected. We were both born in Taipei. We both have three children. We were both PTA volunteers back when our kids were little. Watching another mom juggle all of it and still show up for her community is exactly the kind of thing that makes me proud to serve families here.

Come say hello. There will be light refreshments, a photo booth, and a craft table for the little ones — and plenty of neighbors to meet.
